We're Back!
After a hiatus of more than two years, Chi Phi Fraternity will reestablish the Rho Iota Kappa Colony at The University of Rhode Island. With the extension of formal bids in March of 2008, an active Chi Phi brotherhood will once again become part of the URI greek system late in the Spring semester.
The Rho Iota Kappa alumni, a group with a long history of scholarship, community service, and all-around campus leadership regret the absence of an active on-campus presence over the last two years, we are extremely excited about this return! We've succeeded in building a state-of-the-art house on Fraternity Circle, and have taken steps to ensure the new active brotherhood will be empowered to live up to the legacy and ideals that made Rho Iota Kappa the premiere fraternity at URI through much of the last century.
What We're Looking For
Outstanding young men who will pledge to build a new Rho Iota Kappa Chapter that we can all take pride in. Men who recognize the value of great character and integrity. Men who are willing to give of themselves to provide support back to the URI student population, as well as to the larger community around them. Men who realize that a fellowship of like-minded individuals has ever been the most powerful force in our society -- capable of achieving great things that exceed the reach of any one man.
What We're Offering in Return
A University experience unlike any other. As a Brother at Chi Phi you will learn real-life skills that will prepare you for whatever path you choose to pursue once you leave the friendly confines of life at URI: leadership skills, management skills, relationship-building skills. Alumni mentors -- captains of industry, lawyers, independent businessmen, and community leaders -- will stand by your side as you learn the skills needed to run a Chapter House and Fraternity with close ties to the community around it. These are skills similar to those required to run a small company.

Formal bids will be extended to qualified men on the night of March 7th -- we'd love to see you there.
